Position: Junior R&D Engineer – Software, Electronics & AI

Contract: Permanent employment (full-time)

Location: Delebio (SO), with hybrid work options from Milan and remote

About Us

Enlabor srl is an innovative startup operating in the fields of power electronics and renewables, electronic design, software development, cybersecurity, design and management of complex systems, and research & development.
 
We are a young, highly technical, and fast-growing company (currently 2 people), and part of the ELVI Group (ELVI spa), a solid industrial company with more than 50 employees and around €10M annual revenue, active in industrial automation, photovoltaic systems, and energy projects.
 
Our clients operate in highly innovative sectors such as battery packs, electric outboard motors, electric vehicles (motorcycles and scooters), and advanced energy systems.
 
We are looking for a person to hire on a long-term basis, with the goal of growing together over many years.

Important! The areas described below represent the work domains, not the required skills. We do not expect you to already know how to do all these things. What matters is that you enjoy working in some of these areas. You will always be supported by a senior engineer in each domain.

Work Domains

1. Software development

  • Low-level programming for microcontrollers (C, C++, embedded, firmware)

Technologies & tools: Infineon microcontrollers and similar, C/C++ programming, embedded IDEs, PCB firmware development, debugging tools, oscilloscopes, communication protocols.

Typical products: Battery Management Systems (BMS), three-phase inverters for electric motors, displays, accelerators, magnetic encoders.

Expected activities: supporting firmware development, testing on real hardware, performance analysis and debugging.

  • High-level programming – Full Stack (Python, Java, AWS, Web)

Technologies: Python, Java, AWS, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, front-end and back-end development.

Expected activities: development of internal tools, customer-facing applications, automation scripts, and web platforms.

  • Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)

Expected activities: working in heterogeneous environments, basic system configuration, automation of development and operational tasks.

2. IT Systems Management

  • Daily user support

Resolving common technical issues, device setup, and internal IT assistance.

  • Network infrastructure and server room management

Areas involved: networking, switches, firewalls, virtualization, system monitoring.

Expected activities: maintenance, supervision, and continuous improvement of the company IT infrastructure.

  • Microsoft 365 services supervision

Tools: Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive.

Expected activities: user management, security configurations, and service administration.

  • Active Directory and on-prem resources

Basic activities related to domains, policies, and local servers.

3. Cybersecurity

  • Day-to-day security operations

Monitoring, prevention activities, and support in incident response.

  • Continuous improvement of the security posture

Focus areas: NIS2 regulation, Italian National Cybersecurity and Data Protection Framework (FNCDP), employee awareness and training.

Expected activities: implementation of policies, documentation, and adoption of best practices.

  • Supervision of cybersecurity tools

Tools: antivirus, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Expected activities: dashboard monitoring, alert analysis, and security checks.

4. Company Visibility & Brand Image

  • Website creation and maintenance

Technologies: CMS, HTML/CSS, possible frameworks.

Expected activities: content updates, technical maintenance, creation of landing pages.

  • Newsletters and LinkedIn communication

Support in writing and publishing company updates and technical posts.

5. Electronics

  • Test benches for PCB validation

Design and assembly of setups for electronic board testing.

  • Performance analysis and debugging using oscilloscopes

Signal analysis, fault investigation, and validation of electronic designs.

  • Study and testing of electric motors, inverters, and battery packs

Hands-on laboratory and experimental activities on real systems.

  • PCB assembly and repair

Use of soldering tools and laboratory equipment.

6. 3D Design

  • CAD modeling (Autodesk Fusion 360)

Creation of 3D models, mechanical components, and enclosures.

  • Rapid prototyping with 3D printing

Production and testing of functional prototypes.

7. Artificial Intelligence

  • Use of ChatGPT across all work domains

Application of generative AI to support software development, technical documentation, cybersecurity, content creation, and process optimization.

  • Continuous training on AI technologies

Ongoing learning on models, tools, techniques, and best practices in a rapidly evolving field.

  • Customer training and tutoring

Preparation of training materials, workshops, and one-on-one sessions to help customers adopt AI in their workflows.

  • Optimization of daily activities through AI

Development of automations, intelligent workflows, scheduling, and AI-driven tools to increase operational efficiency.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A curious and motivated person, passionate about technology

  • You do not need to be skilled in all areas: interest in some of them is more than enough.

  • Willingness to learn, take responsibility, and grow over time

  • Technical diploma or STEM degree appreciated but not mandatory.

Work Mode

  • Main workplace in Delebio (SO), especially during the first months (2–3 days per week).

  • Availability of a Milan office and remote work when compatible with activities.

  • Flexible working hours, results-oriented culture.
